To my definition of living big

If you ask me about a dream car , a dream house , or a dream vacation getaway , I don’t have one . Some people think I’m being modest . Others think I’m short of goals in life . Who to lie , I love seeing elegant rides , beautiful houses and having perfect getaway . There’s been once in my life that those were my motivations to achieve something bigger and be different from others . The urge of wanting to have more , and not just sufficient to live . The desire to have choices in life and live wealthy . 

But to some point at life , I realize wealth is not what I’m looking for . Someone great once told me ,  “We don’t worship money but everything in the world needs money .” That is the fact we can’t deny . But there’s another whole world far behind that we are too buzy gazing at what this world could offer , until we have forgotten about the other world . The world where ’ Everything in the world is happiness and there’s no single cent to pay for .’ That is the world most people forgot - THE HEREAFTER . Sometimes being rich doesn’t mean you’re happy . Having more than others doesn’t mean you’re secured . 

I’m not saying that you should throw away all your money and start living a simple life . Not that’s not the point . If you happen to be rich then start doing something good with all the money you hv . Start helping your Ummah . That’s the benefit of you being rich . I’m saying this as in what I experience in life and what I think my life would be in terms of success . So stay calm and don’t hijack me please :)

I realize that I don’t want to know what money could offer me instead I wanted to know what I could offer to the world . I’ve been there , where money offers me almost everything I’ve ever wanted . The perfect car , perfect house and perfect getaway . Everything seem so..perfect , sufficient , glamorous ( eventhough not much but still , couldn’t hv expected more ) . Yes I’ve tasted some of the treasures in the world until out of the blue , an unexpected disaster stroke and I’ve lived to expect sth less . Lived up to sufficiency and not knowing what wealthy means anymore . Those were pasts that motivate me to be who I am today . 

Having to live life you weren’t used to hv were indeed , very tough and killing . Hardships do mould someone into a better person , making me realize I should focus on what I hv rather than what I don’t hv anymore . To be wealthy is fun because I got to hv a lot of choices , a lot of wardrobe seasons , a lot of food paradise but heck ! I wasn’t happy at all ! It was happiness at the beginning but in the end , it wasn’t true . And definitely wasn’t going to be permanent . Instead , after all the ups and downs my family went through , I learn a lot of valuable lessons in my life .

I hv been granted with happiness aside the disaster , one that I’ve never asked for , never hv expected in anyways . After a few volunteer works and charity , I realize that I don’t care about people’s dream car , or dream house and such things anymore . These materialism fr some ppl , could be such a great influence and motivation driven to make themselves successful in life . That’s totally great and I’m never against such motivation . Everyone has different views and perspectives on life , different experiences and different dreams . They do what they hv to do in order to achieve sth big . But as to me , I have dreams too . Bigger than anyone could ever imagined . Well who doesn’t . I have goals too . But I’m achieveing it , in my own ways like it or not .

Being successful in life to me is not about being more than sufficient , isn’t about having choices , isn’t about living big , and the fact isn’t about owning more than what others could afford to own . Technically yes but to my definition of success , it has to be something worth fighting for . A world where money couldn’t buy happiness . Where people would take out their comforts and appreciate better what they hv in life instead of finding ways how to hv things they don’t even need . Family , friends , natural resources , and etc. - These are the things we completely forgot . Ones that we took for granted . These are the true happiness you can’t ever trade with anything . Tell me , money couldn’t even replace . Life is so much more bigger than what it seems . If you treasure it the right way then only would you find your treasure .

I set my parents as an example . My dad and my mom , they never hv a dream car . They always opt to go for a comfortable car instead of a luxury one . A dream house , they don’t hv one either . My mom decorated the whole interior design just to casually occupy the necessities . Dream phones ? ha ha tell me about it . My mom doesn’t even like an android . My dad , he never moved on from polyphonic phones . They said , “as long as we can call and text , there’s no need to hv more.” They always look at life positively .

Dad never told me how much he earns a month . He said ;

( I can’t remember exactly the words but they were sth like these ) “It is not important . Earning big doesn’t mean I’m successful . Earning big means I hv bigger responsibilities in life . To offer the world with kindness , charity and love . And thus , we should live modestly . Think of what less people hv instead of what rich people hv . That way my dear , you’re not just a rich person by counts , but a rich person by heart and happiness ” Thank you dad . You thought me well . 

You know what is my dream ? My dream is to set aside my priorities and help others . Judge me , I don’t please people but God only . I want to hv a good career . Not just good , but noble as well . A career that doesn’t revolve around me solely but a career that can help me lend a hand to those in needs . Instead of earning money , I wanted to earn a noble soul . That’s hard to achieve but it is what goals are set for . Good things come to those who dream big , let alone dream for his Ummah and not himself only . PERIOD .
